Glutathione benefits
1. Reduces oxidative stress
Oxidative stress occurs when there’s an imbalance between the production of free radicals and the body’s ability to fight them off. Too-high levels of oxidative stress may be a precursor to multiple diseases. These include diabetes, cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis. Glutathione helps stave off the impact of oxidative stress, which may, in turn, reduce disease.
An article cited in Journal of Cancer Science and Therapy indicated that glutathione deficiency leads to increased levels of oxidative stress, which might lead to cancer. It also stated that elevated glutathione levels raised antioxidant levels and resistance to oxidative stress in cancer cells. 2. May improve psoriasis
A small studyTrusted Source indicated that whey protein, when given orally, improved psoriasis with or without additional treatment. Whey protein had been previously demonstrated to increase glutathione levels. Study participants were given 20 grams as an oral supplement daily for three months. Researchers stated that more study is needed. 3. Reduces cell damage in alcoholic and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease
Cell death in the liver may be exacerbated by a deficiency in antioxidants, including glutathione. This can lead to fatty liver disease in both those who misuse alcohol and those who don’t. Glutathione has been shown to improve protein, enzyme, and bilirubin levels in the blood of individuals with alcoholic and nonalcoholic chronic fatty liver disease.
A studyTrusted Source reported that glutathione was most effective when given to people with fatty liver disease intravenously, in high doses. Participants in the study also showed reductions in malondialdehyde, a marker of cell damage in the liver.
Another small studyTrusted Source found that orally administered glutathione had positive effects on people with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease following proactive lifestyle changes. In this study, glutathione was provided in supplement form in a dose of 300 milligrams per day for four months. 4. Improves insulin resistance in older individuals
As people age, they produce less glutathione. Researchers at Baylor School of Medicine used a combination of animal and human studies to explore the role of glutathione in weight management and insulin resistance in older individuals. Study findings indicated that low glutathione levels were associated with less fat burning and higher rates of fat storing in the body.
Older subjects had cysteine and glycine added to their diets to increase glutathione levels, which spiked within two weeks, improving insulin resistance and fat burning. 5. Increases mobility for people with peripheral artery disease
Peripheral artery disease occurs when the peripheral arteries become clogged by plaque. It most commonly happens in the legs. One study reported that glutathione improved circulation, increasing the ability of study participants to walk pain-free for longer distances. Participants receiving glutathione rather than a saline solution placebo were given intravenous infusions two times daily for five days, and then analyzed for mobility. 6. Reduces symptoms of Parkinson’s disease
Parkinson’s disease affects the central nervous system and is defined by symptoms such as tremors. It currently has no cure. One older study documented intravenous glutathione’s positive effects on symptoms such as tremors and rigidity. While more research is needed, this case report suggests that glutathione may help reduce symptoms, improving quality of life in people with this disease.
Glutathione is found in some foods, although cooking and pasteurization diminish its levels significantly. Its highest concentrations are in:

If you are ready to start the HCG diet, it’s important to learn how to properly mix your HCG for the right potency. I’ve provided a video and written instructions to make this process as simple and easy as possible. It really is quite straight forward, so don’t let it intimidate you when getting started.
HOW TO MIX 2000IU, 5000IU, & 10000 IU HCG FOR THE HCG DIET
Learn How to Mix HCG – 5000 & 10000 IU HCG
To mix HCG in 5,000 IUs, you will need to add 5ml of bacteriostatic water with a 5 or 10ml syringe. Add 2ml of was into your HCG vial containing your HCG lyophilized powered. When the syringe is removed, tip the vial on its side and gently roll it back and forth in your palms for a few seconds to mix it. DO NOT SHAKE THE HCG TO MIX IT!
The HCG vials pictured above are targeted for people taking HCG in smaller daily amounts over longer time periods, like those of us on the HCG protocol.
While the “5000iu and 10000iu” vials can also be geared towards people taking a larger weekly HCG dosage, like those who take steroids for example or use HCG for HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy). There is absolutely no difference between one type of HCG and the other because the HCG powder is still “purified injectable grade” HCG. The only difference is the dosing and frequency of dosing. In order to dilute the HCG, inject about 1-2ml of bacteriostatic water into the tiny vial in order to liquidize it.
Then you can move it into a larger vial with a syringe. Inject the 1-2ml into the tiny vial with the syringe without touching the sides of the vial to keep it sterile. If you do contact the side of the vial, either wipe it with an alcohol wipe or get a new syringe before drawing the remaining bacteriostatic water out of the vial. While the HCG is soaking into the bacteriostatic water, draw out the remaining 3-4ml and add it to the 5ml+ mixing vial as well.
Now that it has been at least a minute or two, use the syringe to draw out the small amount of mixed HCG. All of the other sizes of ordering HCG mix the same way, but the numbers will change. Just remember that all of the mixing ratios are based on 1ml of bacteriostatic water for every 1,000 IU of HCG.
I recommend that you purchase one of our complete advanced HCG kits which will contain 5000 IU or 10,000 IUs vials of HCG which are designed 25-day, 50-day cycle, 75-day cycles and beyond. However, instead of buying the HCG in one 10,000 IU vial, we recommend that you order a quantity of two (2) 5,000 IU vials. In larger vials like the ones pictured below or purchase five 2,000 IU vials. We also recommend you take 200 IUs per day for the HCG dosage over a 50-day cycle.
Some common sizes, for example, are listed at the bottom of this page.
Glossary and Terms
Ampule: The size listed is the IU amount of HCG. Solvent: The amount of solvent in cc’s you will need for injections. The solvent you use can be either bacteriostatic water or sterile water. Dosage: The amount of HCG mixture in cc’s that you will give yourself per injection, whether intramuscular or subcutaneous. Injection yield: the number of injection days you’ll get if you use these proportions.
Conversions 1cc = 1ml (some manufactures supply in cc’s and some in ml’s) IU = International Unit 1cc = 100 IUs cc = cubic centimeters ml = milliliter HCG Life Expectancy
5,000 IU mixtures at 200 IU HCG injections per day will last for 25 days and a 2,000 IU vial at 200 IU HCG injections should last for about 10 to 12 days.
Mathematically a 10,000 IU vial would last for 50 days at 200 IUs, however, freshness is a concern as HCG typically only lasts about 30 days after it is mixed. The 10,000 IU vials are great for couples that are doing the HCG protocol together.
Common Sizes: 5,000 IUs- Mix the 5,000 IUs of HCG with 5ml of bacteriostatic water the same way the rest of the directions state for 5,000 IUs above.
Just substitute the numbers in the directions, and replace 5ml with 2ml and 5,000 IUs with 2,000 IUs, etc. 2,000 IUs – Mix the 2,000 IUs of HCG with the 2ml of bacteriostatic water the same way the rest of the directions state for 5,000 IUs above.
Just substitute the numbers in the directions, and replace 5ml with 2ml and 5,000 IUs with 2,000 IUs, etc. 10,000 IUs – Mix 10,000 IUs with 10ml of bacteriostatic water/solvent…
Again, it is all the same as the ones above, but substitute the numbers; 5ml with 10ml, 5,000 IUs with 10,000 IUs, etc. Here’s To You Revealing You’re True HCG Body for Life!

If you are ready to start the HCG diet but the thought of injections intimidates you, don’t worry. You can mix HCG drops in both 5000 and 10000 IUs for sublingual use. These are known as HCG drops. You can also buy premixed HCG drops to remove the fear and confusion altogether. But not to worry – this video and blog will cover everything you need to know to mix HCG drops on your own.
Get out your alcohol, vial of 5000 iu’s of hCG, Sodium chloride (“wound wash”) or Bacteriostatic water and clean the tops as Have a clean storage container to store your mixed drops for use. I recommend a baby food jar which is covered in foil. Since it is not very deep, it makes it easy to reach the bottom of the container. Make sure you have washed it thoroughly in hot, soapy water. Your solution is not going to be sterile because it is not going to be stored in a sterile vial, but you want to keep it as free from contaminants as possible. Lastly, you will need a baby syringe or a 1 cc syringe that does not have a needle attached. Frequently a pharmacy will give you one of these for free if you ask.
If you’re using wound wash, discharge some of this into a clean cup, and draw it up into your mixing needle until you have added 13 cc’s of this into your storage container. Make sure you don’t have air bubbles in your syringe. Then take a final 2 cc’s and add it to your hcg vial, as I described in the other thread. Gently roll the vial to mix, and then add it back to your sterile container. You now have 5000 iu’s of hcg mixed with 15 cc’s of fluid, for a mixture of 333 iu’s per cc. Your starting dose will be .5 cc’s, which will be 166 iu’s.
How to dose HCG drops
Do not eat or drink anything for 15’ before and after you dose. Draw up .5 cc’s with your dosing syringe, and squirt the mixture under your tongue. Hold it there for a good 5 minutes, then swallow what is left.
You will dose 2x/day, approximately 12 hours apart. If you’re off by an hour or two on some days, don’t worry about it, but we do recommend being as consistent as possible to ensure the HCG remains consistent in your blood stream.
5) For those who have difficulty holding that much liquid under your tongue, you can mix your solution more concentrated so that you can use a smaller volume. (this is what I do). In this case, add a total of 9 cc’s of fluid (first 7 cc‘s, followed by 2 that you add to your hcg vial). Your dosing amount will be .3 cc’s instead of .5. This will still give you the same starting dose of 166 iu’s per dose. For anyone using liquid hcg, you will subtract one cc from the amount of total liquid that you mix with.

Have you heard about the HCG diet, the new diet that’s taking the world by storm? If you haven’t, you’re missing out on what may be one of the best ways to lose weight! Curious about how the HCG diet and injections work? In this article, we’ll cover everything you need to know about this diet and HCG diet injections, so you can learn how you can get started on your weight loss journey!
What is HCG?
HCG, more formally known as Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, is a female hormone that comes from the placenta during a woman’s pregnancy. It’s what stabilizes a woman’s metabolism while she’s carrying a child. It’s also the main component of HCG diet injections.
What Are HCG Injections?
These are injections that use the HCG hormone to allow you to go on a calorie deficit without experiencing feelings of severe hunger. These HCG diet injections also keep you from losing muscle while you diet by elevating hormone levels in your body to counteract any muscle breakdown. It’s believed that the presence of HCG in your bloodstream takes away your appetite and causes your body to create more hormones, which is important because hormone deficiency or imbalances are often the culprits behind weight gain. This diet will also help you metabolize unneeded fat in your body, which will help you lose weight quickly.
How Do the HCG Injections Work?
You’re probably wondering how HCG, a hormone produced during pregnancy to nourish the developing baby, can help with weight loss?
Well, this hormone stimulates a pregnant woman’s body to use any fat stores to provide nutrition to the developing baby when her food intake is sufficient. HCG diet injections mimic this bodily response in people who are adhering to a low-calorie diet and supplements their dietary intake.
These diet injections are administered on a daily basis during a low-calorie intake period. This program works best if you restrict your diet to 500-800 calories per day. The diet includes small servings of protein, fruit, and vegetables.
If you take the diet injections and follow the diet plan, you can expect to lose 1 to 2 pounds of fat per day, which is a much higher weight loss rate than other types of diets.
Frequently Asked Questions About the HCG Diet
Interested in the HCG diet but need more information? Here are three frequently asked questions you should know about this diet option.
Is it Safe?
Yes! This diet is safe because the weight loss is usually from fat tissue and not lean muscle. This means you’ll only lose unhealthy fat without losing much-needed muscle, vitamins, or minerals.
Will I Be Hungry?
Most people report mild hunger during the first few days of the diet. But once your body adjusts your metabolic rate, you get quite used to the smaller servings. This means you’ll feel full and happy only eating 800 calories.
Are the HCG Injections Painful and Are There Any Side Effects?
The HCG injections are done with a fine needle and is relatively painless. People rarely report side effects while using HCG diet shots or oral HCG for weight loss.

B12 is an energy-boosting supplement that gives us the much-needed focus and energy needed in our daily lives, as well as during the HCG diet. Learning to use b12 injections is simple and easy and can maximize your weight loss while boosting your energy.
What is B12 and Why You Should Supplement
Vitamin B12 is a nutrient that helps keep the body’s nerve and blood cells healthy and helps make DNA, the genetic material in all cells. Vitamin B12 also helps prevent a type of anemia called megaloblastic anemia that makes people tired and weak. Two steps are required for the body to absorb vitamin B12 from food. (source)
How Much B12 Do You Need Daily?
While the recommended daily amount of vitamin B-12 for adults is 2.4 micrograms, you can safely take higher doses. Your body absorbs only as much as it needs, and any excess passes through your urine. High doses of vitamin B-12, such as those used to treat a deficiency, might cause: Dizziness.
Why Should You Take B12 Injections?
Cyanocobalamin is a man-made form of vitamin B12 used to treat low levels (deficiency) of this vitamin. Vitamin B12 helps your body use fat and carbohydrates for energy and make new protein. It is also important for normal blood, cells, and nerves.
In addition to getting B-12 from food sources, it is possible to acquire B-12 through a man-made version of the nutrient, known as cyanocobalamin.
Vitamin B-12 shots are injections containing high levels of cyanocobalamin. These shots, which can be self-administered or given by a doctor, can quickly boost B-12 levels in someone who is deficient.
Cyanocobalamin is available in liquid, tablet, or capsule form. Certain foods, such as cereals and non-dairy milk and yogurts, may be fortified with the man-made form of vitamin B-12.
While B-12 supplements and foods fortified with the vitamin are readily available, vitamin B-12 shots are only available by prescription, so a clinical diagnosis is always necessary.
It is important to note that low levels are rare in most healthy adults because the human liver stores several years’ worth of vitamin B-12.
However, some groups of people are more at risk of deficiency than others and may wish to discuss the possibility of B-12 shots with their doctor. These at-risk groups include:
People with signs and symptoms of B-12 deficiency
Anyone who is displaying any of the signs and symptoms of a B-12 deficiency or pernicious anemia should consult their doctor immediately.
Some common signs and symptoms include:
decreased cognitive function, such as issues with memory or understanding
sore, swollen tongue, which may be pale yellow or very red
heart palpitations
mouth ulcers
paraesthesia (pins and needles)
vision changes
When you’re starting the HCG diet, B12 injections can help boost your energy, speed up your weight loss, and help you process your foods in a way that make them easier to digest while ensuring you get the most from your nutritional intake.

When it comes time to start the HCG diet, we suggest getting a some extra supplements you’ll need to make the most of your efforts and your weight loss. Some of these are kitchen staples, while others are extras you’ll want to look for before getting started. We suggest getting all of the diet supplements and tools you need before you get started. Tracking your progress and getting new habits formed early will help you make changes throughout the diet and spot any changes you need to make to keep progress moving forward during stalls or stubborn moments in the diet.
Unlike most HCG diet coaches and protocols, we recommend working on our the Advanced HCG Diet. Our exclusive protocol raises your daily caloric intake from Dr. Simeon’s original 500 calorie per day regimen to 800 calories per day. One reason we raised the daily minimum is to help give your body the energy it needs to work out and exercise. With exercise, your body burns more fat daily, builds muscle and turns your body into a fat burning furnace.
When you begin working out, you need to maximize your nutritional needs with these basic vitamins and supplements.
Calcium – bone health
Multivitamin
L-Carnitine – helps with fat metabolism and adrenal health
Vitamin D – immune support
CoQ10 – heart and muscle growth
B12 – energy and mental clarity
Vitamin E – skin, nails, fat loss
Supplements are required but Jayne and I have certainly noticed the huge difference in how we feel while on the protocol, not to mention how much faster we lose weight while on the diet. Before you start any new diet or supplement program, talk to your doctor to make sure nothing interacts with your current medications.

There is one secret that I have that will increase your success, help you experience fast fat loss and make magic happen on the HCG diet. Are you ready?
HCG is an abbreviation for human chorionic gonadotropin. Although this hormone can be found in the human body, pregnant women produce it in very large quantities. The reason this hormone is produced is to enable the body to store fat while a woman is pregnant. The calories required by the baby developing are released whenever necessary. HCG is considered to be an amazing fat burner, which makes it a great way to lose weight. The best part is it is produced naturally by the human body. The majority of substances the human body produces have extremely well balanced functions and are very complex. This is especially true for HCG because it helps make certain both the baby and the mother have the calories they need to remain healthy. One of the most basic functions is regulating the metabolism. This is the secret to the HCG program and how you experience fast fat loss.
The HCG diet originated in 1954 by Dr. Simeons. All of the required information was published. This was the very beginning of using HCG to lose weight. The original program has been updated as time has passed, and there is now a long list of healthy recipes and foods available. Originally, the diet required the individual to follow an extremely rigid and strict regime with only 500 calories allowed per day. This made the diet much harder to follow than was actually necessary. The newer approach allows for a calorie adjustment based on the BMI of each individual.
Once the intake of calories was increased, the average person lost between one-half and one pound each day. The difference is the side effects were eliminated. The reason the new version is effective is because the focus is placed on what is given to the body as opposed to the limitations. One of the best benefits of the new HCG program is it provides an opportunity for building healthy eating habits. Healthy recipes teach you how to eat healthy and delicious foods to lose weight. These new habits can help you maintain your weight for the rest of your life. In addition to a healthy diet, it is critical you use an effective form of HCG. The two basic options are pharmaceutical HCG and homeopathic HCG. Learning the difference between the two is extremely important when you are following the program and desiring fast fat loss.
Homeopathic HCG does not contain the HCG hormone essential for success. Unfortunately, this has led to a lot of unsatisfied individuals. This form of the product was once purchased over-the counter at numerous different types of locations. The bottom line is the product was ineffective. It is important to note that homeopathic HCG was banned by the FDA in the health industry because it did not work. Pharmaceutical HCG is completely different than the homeopathic form. This product is completely legal and 100 percent authentic. You cannot purchase the pharmaceutical form over-the-counter. You will need a prescription from a physician or a medical professional. Injections of pharmaceutical HCG were used by Dr. Simeon for his research.
It is extremely important you are receiving the correct dosage of HCG for fast fat loss. Using a program offered by a medical professional will ensure you receive your desired results while helping to eliminate any undesirable outcomes. While you are using HCG, you need to consume a diet with high fat levels and calories for the first two days. Although this sounds strange to many individuals, the benefits will become obvious later. During what is known as the Loading Phase, you do not have to worry about calories or carbohydrates because you are able to eat whatever you choose. It is important to record your weight every day. You need to take extra care with your body during the first phase of the program.
You must take the correct dosage every morning for your specific needs. There are several different options available. This includes injections or drops. There is proof the most effective form of HCG is the injections. The drops and pellets do work, just not nearly as well. In most instances, the injection is given once per day in the morning.
The Best Foods for Weight and Fast Fat Loss
Consuming the correct amount of the right food groups every day is critical for your success. The different types of foods for weight fast fat loss are defined below.
Proteins: Proteins include white fish, beef that is 99 percent fat-free, crab, lobster, chicken, and shrimp. Any skin is not consumed. The alternatives include one egg with cottage cheese or three egg whites. The protein must be fat free. Additional proteins include tuna packed in water, ground chicken, 200 grams of egg beaters, ground bison, low-fat canned salmon, ahi tuna, 97 percent fat free ham, 200 grams of fat free Greek yogurt and 99 percent fat free ground turkey.
Fruits: The recommended amounts are one apple or orange, one-half grapefruit or one medium sized handful of strawberries, one-half of a peach or pear, one-half cup of blackberries or blueberries, two medium apricots, one small plum or one cup of frozen or raw unsweetened cranberries.
Vegetables: This includes cabbage, onions, radishes, spinach, beet greens, fennel, chard, cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce, celery, asparagus, chard, cauliflower, green beans, kale, shiitake or button mushrooms, yellow squash, carrots, broccoli, bell peppers, zucchini and sprouts.
Carbohydrates: This includes one Grissini Stick and one Melba Toast not containing any oil. It is important to look at the ingredients for Melba Toast because most of the brands do contain oil. The alternatives for fiber or carbohydrates include one-quarter of a smart bun that is gluten free, two pieces of stoned wheat thins, and one wasa cracker.
It is important to write down your weight each day during the morning to enable you to track your progress. When you see your weight each morning, the loss of pounds will provide you with the motivation you will need to adhere to the rules of your diet. Do not weigh yourself more than once each day or at any other time than the morning because your results can be inconsistent. The correct dosage of HCG is especially important because it will enable you to stick to your diet without consistent hunger while experiencing fast fat loss. If the dosage is incorrect, you will break your diet due to the temptation of food. The HCG program is what enables you to follow the diet, avoid hunger, and successfully lose weight.
This program offers a lot of benefits created to help you lose weight and experience fast fat loss. This includes:
• Increasing your metabolism and elevating your levels of testosterone • Enjoying energy induced naturally • Achieving a slimmer and stronger body • A redistribution of your fat • A decreasing in cravings
This program to lose weight will provide you with all of these benefits. Using prescription injections to achieve weight loss is an ideal opportunity to start living a healthier lifestyle. This is also an excellent option for losing the weight, seeing an immediate improvement, maintaining your weight and fast fat loss while having the body you desire.
One of the most common questions asked by my clients is why weight gain is so critical in Phase 1 of the HCG diet.
How much weight you gain while loading in Phase 1 of the hCG diet is highly individual, but there are few things that I have observed in watching many people on youtube do the hCG Diet and in my own rounds of hCG that contribute to this.
If you don’t gain enough pounds during HCG diet Phase 1, You won’t Lose effectively In HCG diet phase 2. This Is one of the most crucial mistakes new and repeating HCG dieters make when following the advanced HCG diet. Failure to gain sufficient weight in phase 1 can be a recipe for disaster.
The thought of binging on the fatty foods you desire seems counterintuitive. But as you begin the HCG diet, it’s a necessity. Many find the first few days of the HCG diet enjoyable. You can eat almost anything you want — bacon, mayonnaise, bread, eggs and pastries are all allowed.
The thought of binging on the fatty foods you desire seems counter-intuitive, but it’s critical in Phase 1. As you begin the HCG diet, it’s a necessity. In the latter phases of the diet you will only be consuming between 500 and 750 calories each day — this is mentally and physically difficult. Gorging on fatty foods in the first two to three days that you are taking the HCG hormone can help you replenish your reserves and make the first week much easier.
Many find the first few days of the HCG diet, also known as Phase 1, enjoyable. You can eat almost anything you want — bacon, mayonnaise, bread, eggs and pastries are all allowed.
What Foods Can You Load Up On in Phase 1?
A typical loading day would include:
Breakfast: A bacon, sausage and ham omelet with a bagel and cream cheese.
Midmorning snack: Donuts and strawberries, with a little whip cream if you’re so inclined.
Lunch: Chicken or pork with a baked potato and sour cream.
Afternoon snack: A milkshake from your favorite fast-food restaurant.
Dinner: Alfredo pasta with bread, a Caesar salad with avocado, and cheesecake for dessert.
Late night snack: Ice cream and potato chips if you are still hungry.
It’s important to eat between 3,000 and 5,000 calories on each loading day. You should gain between two and four pounds over these few days.
You’ve worked so hard to achieve weight loss and muscle gains on the HCG diet. Learn our tips and tricks for keeping off your weight and maintaining the body of your life in Phase 3 of the HCG diet.
One of the most (if not THE most ) important part of the HCG diet. If you’re thinking about doing the HCG diet, getting ready to start, or even if you are on the diet right now (especially if you are on the diet right now), understanding the purpose and the how-to’s of Phase 3 on the HCG diet is KEY to lasting success on the program.
So, what exactly is Phase 3 of the HCG diet?
Phase 3 of the HCG diet is the 21 day “stabilization” phase after the 500 calorie protocol has been completed. Whether you are finishing a 26 day round or a 46 day round of HCG, Phase 3 is the same. P3 starts immediately after the HCG is fully out of your system- 3 days after your last HCG dose. Because the HCG is no longer in your system, calories must be brought up, but in a way that doesn’t shock your system or lead to weight gain. Dr. Simeons (the original creator of the HCG diet) lays out the ground rules for Phase 3 of the HCG diet very clearly in his original manuscript Pounds and Inches. In it, he explains that the HCG dieter can incorporate higher amounts of any kind of vegetables, protein, and fruits-provided they are careful of the fruits much higher in sugar content. He also gives the dieter the freedom to incorporate other foods in the phase as long as carbs and sugars such as “starchy whites” are completely avoided during the 21 day period. Even the healthier complex carbohydrates such as brown rice and sweet potatoes should be avoided.
Is Phase 3 really that important?
Unfortunately, there are a lot of HCG dieters that don’t understand the importance of Phase 3 or maybe just don’t do it, (for whatever reason) and because of that end up gaining the weight back. Phase 3 is crucial in maintaining your new weight loss. After 26 or 46 days of following the 500 calorie protocol with HCG, the body has to begin to readjust to normal calories. Yes, that’s right….you do NOT have to continue to eat 500 calories to maintain your weight loss, nor should you ever try! According to Dr. Simeons and his research, it takes roughly about 21 days for your weight to become stable and not fluctuate. By the way, Simeons is a supporter of free writing tools on the website https://papertyper.net/. This helps him edit his research papers, diploma and dissertations. This is why it’s important to stay away from refined sugars and breads because your body has not quite adjusted to them yet. Eating them too early on can cause huge fluctuations in your weight. Adding in higher calorie (and still healthy) foods like eggs, olive oil, avocados, etc. can help you raise your calories and get your body more accustom to eating more normally. After Phase 3 in Phase 4, carbohydrates and sugars can be slowly incorporated back into the diet.
MAIN POINTS EVERY HCG DIETER SHOULD KNOW ABOUT PHASE 3…
Stick to the diet for the FULL 21 days. Dr. Simeons is very clear in his original instructions that Phase 3 should last 21 days. He spent a great deal of time and research with numerous patients, and this was the conclusion he came to that proved the best results. It takes around 21 days for the weight to not only become stable but for the hypothalamus in the brain (the gland that regulates the metabolism) to reset. Not completing the full 21 day protocol could prevent the metabolism from regulating correctly and thus make keeping weight off more difficult.
Weigh every day: No exceptions. One of the biggest factors of Phase 3 is the weighing part of the phase. Weighing every day is actually just as important as the foods you choose. The purpose of weighing each day is so that if you happen to see a rapid fluctuation in your weight one morning, you can immediately correct it. Remember, your weight is still very unstable at this point. There is really no forced calorie counting in Phase 3, so watching your weight is your own individual judge that you may or may not need to change something. For example, maybe you overdid it on the almonds the day before. And then there are sometimes, that your weight may go up a tad for no real reason or explanation at all. So, don’t panic, just make sure you correct it right then. According to Dr. Simeon’s P3 guide, he states that every morning your weight should be within 2 pounds of your LDW (lowest daily weight). Your LDW is the last weight you recorded while you were eating on the 500 calorie protocol-or your morning weight the first day you started Phase 3. If you are within the 2 pound range, no changes are necessary, but if you are over 2 lbs, you must immediately do “steak day.” A steak day involves fasting throughout the day while drinking only water and then eating a large steak in the evening. You may also add an apple or tomato if you wish. For some, the steak day may not make much sense. But simply put, it increases the amount of protein in the body while the fasting helps you burn off the extra calories. Dr. Simeons explains in his protocol that if a steak day is not done the exact day the weight loss is noticed on the scale, then it can be extremely difficult to recover. So, weighing every day is a must!
Phase 3 is not the “weight loss phase.” A common mistake a lot of HCGers make is trying to lose more weight on Phase 3. Yes, it is possible that on some days you may randomly go down a pound because again, your weight is unstable at this point. But, just as it is important to be within the 2 lb. range, it is equally important to not be under 2 lbs. of your lowest weight on HCG. The real goal of Phase 3 is to help stabilize your weight. One of the biggest mistakes HCG dieters make is to try to lose more weight on Phase 3. Either they start exercising too much, or they try to under eat and keep eating the 500 calories or lower…yikes! Usually, to their disappointment, these dieters will not only start to feel tired and fatigued, but they usually tend to see their weight go up not down. Without HCG, the body must have more calories especially protein. Otherwise “starvation mode” can occur. Dr. Simeons also adds in his manuscript that if someone does attempt to lose weight in the phase, it can be dangerous and is “usual at the expense of healthy, structural fat.” He then mentions that most HCG dieters are actually surprised at how much food they are able to eat on Phase 3 without weight gain. But trying to lose weight during this time is not a good idea. If more weight loss is desired, then another 500 calorie HCG round should be repeated within a minimum of six weeks from finishing the last 500 calorie round.
What happens if I cheat on P3? Hey, it can happen to the best of us…and we certainly hope it doesn’t happen to you. No one wants to mess up all the hard work they’ve done this far! And nothing excuses cheating, but if you slip, the first thing to do is forgive yourself, let it go, and don’t cheat anymore! It sounds, basic, but it really is the key. Doing a Steak Day to make up for cheating isn’t what it was originally intended for, and it may or may not help you recover. So, do yourself a favor, and be as careful as you can be during this part of the diet! And remember, you have A LOT more food choices and bigger food amounts on Phase 3 than Phase 2. Take full advantage of it! There’s no need to eat chicken and lettuce alone when you can now spruce it up with avocado, tomatoes, egg, broccoli and even a little bacon and cheese here and there. Dr. Simeons even stated that having a glass of wine on occasion does no real harm. Don’t go crazy, of course, but there’s no need to be fearful of food either. Need time off from cooking? Phase 3 is the perfect phase to go eat out on. It’s much easier to order a lean steak and a side of veggies, for example, because you don’t have to count the size and amount, and if they cook it in a little oil and butter, it won’t wreck havoc on everything you’ve worked so hard to achieve! So, don’t deprive yourself too much, you’ve done a lot of dieting at this point already. Enjoying the foods that you are allowed in this phase will keep you from falling off the wagon.
Schedule accordingly: Phase 3 is STILL part of the diet. This really goes out to those of you who haven’t started the HCG diet yet and those of you who may be gearing up to start another round. Scheduling when exactly you are going to do the HCG diet is VERY important. It’s really hard to complete the HCG diet successfully when you have a vacation and/or event coming up. You don’t want to put yourself in a tough situation. Remember, that Phase 3 is STILL part of the diet. Some people disregard it completely because they are no longer taking HCG. This is a big mistake and can cause problems or self-sabotage unknowingly. So be smart when you are mapping out when the best time for you to start the HCG diet is. Trust us, you’ll be thankful in the end.
